DF is a clinical academic based in Cardiff, Wales, where he leads the Division of Infection and Immunity, Cardiff University, comprising 200 staff and 70 postgraduate research students, and the Wales Kidney Research Unit, a Biomedical Research Unit funded by Health and Care Research Wales that studies the diagnosis, prevention, treatment and social context of kidney disease. DF’s research interests include RNA-based methodologies, innate immune responses and fibrosis, in the kidney and peritoneum.
