Dr Karine Manera is a research fellow at the Sydney School of Public Health, The University of Sydney. Her research expertise is in the field of person-centred care and outcomes, patient-reported outcomes, qualitative research, consensus methods and consumer engagement. She is a committee member of the Standardised Outcomes in Nephrology (SONG) initiative and project coordinator for SONG-Peritoneal Dialysis. She established a core outcome set for research in peritoneal dialysis which is endorsed by ISPD and has led to increased recognition of the importance of patient preferences and shared decision-making. She serves as Associate Editor for Peritoneal Dialysis International.
